Senior or Junior Software Engineer
Expertise Required
Flex Flash Java J2EE OOUI Actionscript
Job Description
Overview

We are Niche Technologists, Inc. an IT staffing and consulting company providing clients across the U.S. with specialty-skilled professionals since 1993.

We currently have a FT Software Engineer position open in NY City for a Flex/Flash developer.

This position does not call for someone focused on design, or applications development, or whose experience is mostly developing bar graphs and tables for web pages or who has strong back-end but weak front-end experience.

An ideal candidate might be someone with a strong OO background who has moved into Flex development.

This position does call for someone with a strong object-oriented, Java J2EE, SOAP, Flash/Flex background (with more Flash than Flex) - someone who understands methodologies and approaches.

It does not require MVC Flex framework, but will require that you provide links to web sites that showcase your experience.

Very smart, junior level people will be considered who offer high potential, who come across really well and can adapt quickly to different work environments.

Any Spring / Hibernate experience is a huge plus but not a requirement.

Summary

This position will focus heavily on emerging technology projects and OOUI (object-oriented user interface) development. The position is within the client’s Interactive Technology Group which encompasses web properties, intranet and B2B sites.

Requirements

• 4 years object-oriented programming languages (Java, C++, Objective-C, Flex, Flex Builder 3, and ActionScript 3)

• 2 years Flash CS3 / Flex

• Experience refactoring a Flex/Flash application that has already been built versus building one

• 2 years client-side development platforms

• BS in CS, EE or equivalent experience • NOTE: Experience with Spring and/or Hibernate is a plus but not required
