Kurt has a passion for taking on enterprise and consumer security, performance and networking related business opportunities and challenges.
Most recently as Chief Development Officer and Sr. EVP Software Product Line at SIMtone Corporation, Kurt defined the platform and using innovative approaches developed, packaged and delivered SIMtone’s comprehensive cloud computing network and services software platform for service providers (Telcos) within 9 months from the platform inception. This SIMtone platform dynamically provides brokered, authenticated, secure, encrypted and automatically provisioned connections from stateless zero-client and thin-client terminals to virtual desktop and real desktops and services.
Prior to SIMtone, Kurt served as EVP Marketing & Development and subsequently as CEO at ASPEED Software, a high performance computing software additive used by top Wall Street firms for Risk and Pricing applications to parallelize computationally intensive financial applications. ASPEED was acquired by SIMtone. Prior to ASPEED, Kurt was EVP Application Performance Management at Precise Software (PRSE) acquired by VERITAS (VRTS) where he drove software and professional services sales in the US and Asia (Japan, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand). Prior to Precise Kurt was CEO and Founder eBSure, INC., a Web user experience metrics software monitor provider that was acquired by Precise.
Prior to eBSure, Kurt drove consumer, web, server, network, mainframe, file and data base security software products through three consecutive M&As, beginning at AbirtNet, Ltd. As AbirNet CEO, Kurt introduced a novel intrusion detection product, SessionWall, and drove worldwide growth until the company was acquired by MEMCO (MEMCF), a UNIX server protection, access control and SSO software provider. Within two months of the acquisition by MEMCO, Platinum Technology (PLAT) and MEMCO signed a definitive agreement this resulted in Kurt becoming CEO of MEMCO US and acting GM for Platinum Security Product line directing a team of 455 MEMCO and Platinum folks, driving the security software revenue growth to $150M over the transition period. Upon completion of the MEMCO and Platinum merger, Computer Associates (CA) acquired Platinum. Kurt managed the transition and became the CA SVP Security Product line merging the combined companies’ 50 security software products under the “eTrust” brand with a $1B revenue target, achieving $250M in the first quarter of roll out.
