Consultant ― Programmer

Environment: Oracle 7.3.x, Informatica, Power center, ETL, Business Objects 4.1.5, Unix (HP-UX)

Project Brief and Responsibilities

The client wanted to implement Oracle Manufacturing and intended to move to an Oracle based application to handle their Workforce data.

Workforce Maintainer provided a labor collection system for both groups of facilities, initially in seven plants.  The application provided a method of entering employee time, calculating payments and exporting data to Peoplesoft at regular intervals for the payment process.  It also generated complete daily production costing for analysis.

Workforce Maintainer was made to dispatch “extracts” of employee hours, rates and accounts to the system, as an automated process.  The complexity of the application was severe since the methodology of calculating overtime and the creation of the Peoplesoft file were different for each plant.  Finally, the system records actual employee vacation hours based on the type of accounts and the plant.

Environment:  Visual Basic 5.0, COM, Active X, Crystal Reports 6.0 and Oracle 7.3

Material and Financial Accounting System Project                                   Aug 1997 – May 1998

This system consists of templates to maintain various books of accounts and stock order and data pertaining to Cash/Bank Transactions, Journals, Debit Note, credit note, employees, customers and suppliers etc.  This system kept track of the daily position of cash and bank transaction.  Used RDO and ODBC to interface with Oracle. Extensively used WINDOWS ‘95 compliance controls on it, making user interface more efficient. Incorporated functions and procedures using PL/SQL to consolidate data generate trial balance, P/F data and balance sheet data. In most of the screens DBGrid has been extensively used in an unbound mode, in order to update multiple records at time in the database and some columns of DBGrid have been tagged with help context screens, which are developed programmatically. Each screen was facilitated with a query-invoking concept.  By which we can output the query result into the list box in turn modifies or delete the transaction by list indexing. Crystal Reports have been extensively used to cater the needs of MIS.

Inventory Control System Project                                                        Dec 1996 – Jul 1997
